Chapter 3: Noteworthy Neighbors

During our visit with her she shared some of the people who called our neighborhood home. Among her list was Richard Firestone and his wife, Lily Pons, an opera singer and actor, Jennie Lee Allison, mother of Wick Allison founder of D Magazine, and Herman Lay, of Lays Potato Chips, all of which lived at Diamond Head. Other Dallasites were Ebby Halliday who resided at the Jaguar, Sid Stahl, who served as a Dallas City Council Member, Norm Sanju, one of the Founders of the Dallas Mavericks Basketball Team, and Jane Slater of Fishburn’s Cleaners. 

These are just a few of the names that Ms. Rogers recalled. She now lives in Royal Arms, one of the many condominium complexes behind the Pink Wall. She is delighted to call this area home and the members of PHSNA are as well.
